Middlesbrough midfielder Josh Walker has suffered torn ankle ligaments in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
Making his first start in the Premier League and seen as a bright prospect for the future, the 19-year-old was forced off early in the second half of the 1-1 draw.
A specialist determined the England youth international has torn lateral ligaments in his left ankle, with the club refusing to put a timescale on his absence as the injury is still being assessed.
