Pete. United played like that against Barca because it is the best tactic .. nullify them. They have too many skilfull players who can pass the ball so why let them?? It ain't pretty but it worked for Liverpool and Chelsea against Barca and it has got AC Milan to the final a few times. Do you think we cared how we won as long as we got to Moscow? We have played great attractive football many times over the years and gone out to lesser teams on away draws or fluke goals, poor refereeing decisions, cheating the lot you name it. And it worked a charm. Once Scholesy had scored a great goal they were confident of keeping Barca out because we had the meanest defence in europe by a mile. And guess what. It was tense but Barcelona barely hurt us other than long range shots and apart from one good shot from Messi and another chance when Eto'o got slipped through the rest was dealt with professionally by the defence and midfield. We won and we lifted the cup. It's called tactics so get over it. Germany have won what, 4 world cups doing the same.

Hahaa pete, u r kidding. Foster, G.neville,brown,rio, hargreves,carick,scholes,rooney,terry,lampard,a.cole,j.cole,carragher,gerrard,walcot.... Those r the players in the 1st line up... If u add the subs u get almost 25 players. Liverpool r gonna show u how epl is better dan madrid n' laliga.

Some people are talking s.h.i.t. Let me clarify somethng, real madrid were the best club in the world in 2001/2, but right nw (2008-current) man utd are the best. If u wnt 2 knw hw many english players played in CL final..
