Zarate puts brakes on Lazio deal

The brother of Mauro Zarate is holding up talks over a permanent deal at Lazio.

Zarate is on-loan at Lazio from Qatar's Al Sadd and Tuttosport says president Claudio Lotito is ready to commit the second installment of three £7 million payments to secure him to an outright deal.

But Zarate's brother and agent, Sergio, said: "We'll talk at the end of January. Mauro wants to stay, but first we must look around."

Real Madrid and Inter Milan are among clubs following Zarate.
