David Edgar admits he is playing for his future at Newcastle United.
The Canada defender told the Evening Chronicle: “I only have to the end of the season, so I need to show I can play here.
“I might not be needed, but that is football. “You are given your chance, and it is up to you to take it. That is my dream. I grew up supporting the club, and always will.
“I want to stay, but I have to do what is best for me.
“This could be my chance to hopefully earn a new contract, or be in the shop window for other teams.”
