Man Utd's Ferdinand: Evans can fill Vidic void
Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Mon, 12/22/2008 - 07:55
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is backing Jonny Evans to fill the void left by Nemanja Vidic for their Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
Vidic is out of the game after being sent-off in last night's Club World Cup final victory over Quito, but Ferdinand says: “It is disappointing because Vida has been instrumental to our success.
“But we have a young centre-half in Evans who will relish the chance against one of the best teams in the world.”
