Wigan boss Bruce priced out of deal for Reading's Doyle

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce admits he's been priced out of a deal for Reading striker Kevin Doyle.

Bruce was keen on Doyle but was put off by the £8m valuation.

He said: "We will have to look elsewhere because of the prices domestically.

"I have three strikers out of contract at the end of the season, so you don't have to be Einstein to work out where we need to strengthen."
