cannavaro won fifa player of da year 2006 bcz he won da world cup n also he was at his best too
italy only concead 2 goals in world cup so he deserved tht one
n also messi vl be 2nd in ballon d or
hehe he's just jealous of Cr7, well actually all are apart from the united players!! every1 that faces Ronaldo goes thro enormous amount of pain so they start talking jibbershizzle... anywyas up urs Cesc, you're jibbershizzle proved ur a Looser.... rosicky is better then you, actually even silvester is better then you, maybe no in football, but in real life they all sure are coz u talk jibbershizzle.... Cr7 gt 48something votes and messi got his half, ur opinion is crap coz even ur whole family'e vote wud not help messi overtake Cr7... hehhe lol what a sucker!!
Well, in that case.... the only reason you wanted Messi to win was becasue he is "your friend", i wanted mikael silvestre to win it because he's "french".
Oliver D. You win these awards on merit and ronaldo won every possible category you can think of over Messi. Messi may end up better but you have to do more than win the olympics to get these awards. ronaldo beat him hands down in every category. trophies, goals, assists. A WINGER that scored more goals in a season than Messi and most centre forwards ever will. Best scored 32 goals in 1968 - an unmatched feat as a winger and ronaldo beat that by TEN goals and so far this season he has hit 9 even though he missed 6 weeks with injury. He is faster than Messi and is unbelievably quick with the ball at his feet. Messi can't head a ball whereas Ronaldo one of the best in the world with his head. He is also bigger and physically stronger that Messi. Now Messi has done very well so far this season - as part of a team that is currently playing outstanding football, just as ronaldo did last season. But it isn't the November player of the year award is it? Messi will win it in the future - next year if he carries on as he has this season, but Ronaldo is the clear winner this season. This is why he won the Ballon D'Or by a record margin. Messi might get the FIFA award which has always been a joke but he certainly doesn't deserve it. toothy Ronaldo won it in 1992 because of 3 weeks in the world cup. for the rest of the time he was rubbish or injured. Thierry Henry should have won it that year. Zidane was the best player in the world for 10 years. He did not win the awards 10 times did he? No, because you have to win it on merit. If Messi lifts the La Liga and Ch League trophies next May then he will win. But not for the olympics. Most countries don't even bother sending a team and if they do they send mostly young players to get experience.
To me, Ron ain't a fantastic playa. But he deserves the award for scoring 42 goals last season. He deserves the award because of last season. But as a better playa than Messi, not on his life. He did well in a season all other top playas floped. Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto, Henry, Ibra, Drogba, Trezeguet, Kaka, Robinho, Toti, etc all had injury and bad season. Only Torres of Liv and Adebayor raised their game. Messi shouldn't have come second. I think Torres should have. Messi got 2nd spot by Media even though talent and class wise, Messi is far ahead of Ron. Also Ron will make more money for a club than Messi 'cause of the Portuguess factor: arrogance... Morinho, figo, Ron. Too cheap but Ron will also win the FIFA best playa. Disgrace, but it will be... last season.
Why are u angry of barcelona cos dis team is d best team in europe?
In all he scored 15 goals from either penalties and open play, thats 25 goals scored by someone who is basically a winger. While penalties may be a ball, free-kicks are quite a difficult skil to perform consistently, besides great players like ronaldinho, rivaldo, zidane, figo, beckham and juninho carved out a reputation for themselves for free-kicks and i saw no one running his mouth about that!.Torres is a great player, but have you ever noticed him agaisnt United?, no,he has never come to the table. i assure you Torres would be wishing to be able to play free , if you doubt it ask him,i'll send you his number shortly.
I think cesc deserved this award becouse he is the one to choose who is better 4it. But the prblm is that they(ronaldo and cesc) are playing the same league, ronaldo win virtually al the domestic award, scored more than twenty goals in the process, win premier league and win champions league, eventually highest goal scorer, most valuable player. The question is, mr cesc will you tell me your personal and club achievment last season between you and your best player(messi).
How many of Ronaldo's goals came from open play and how many came from penalties and free kicks? All of the goals scored by Torres came from open play. Much more difficult than when the other teams players have to stand still.
Just wondering.
We arent talking about ego or loyalty or any other thing of the sort. we are taliking about who had the most spectacular season last year, and everyone knows it was Ronaldo. He was crowned the best in the premierleague, plus its highest goal scorer, best in the championsleague plus its highest goal scorer, he won Europe's golden boot(hope most of you anti-ronaldo guys know what that means). His Fellow professionals voted him as their world player of the year (fifpro),so he has got all the credentials. if messi had done all these wonders against teams like getafe, valladolid et all, barca would have won the league last season!. he wasnt even voted the best player in La liga (aguero) last season,so what is all the fuss about. Ronaldo is the standout nominee for any individual award because he did the job for a big club and contributed to an immensely succesful season. Talent wise ,yes there can be an arguement there, but if you say which player had the best season in 2007/2008,then we all know who it was, i dislike blind bigotry,it is the trait of idiots,if you look at facts then there would be no case for messi, great player that he is. he will certainly have his day,but for now,Ronaldo is the top dog, hate it or love it !
