Benitez on verge of inking £4.5M-a-year Liverpool contract
Rafa Benitez is on the verge of inking a massive new contract with Liverpool.
The People says Benitez will sign a new three year deal worth an extra £500,000.
And the Liverpool boss will gain an extra pay rise of £500,000 a year if he brings the title to Anfield.
That means the Spaniard could be on a massive £4.5million a year by the end of the season.
A contract will be signed by Christmas, although it will not be the five-year deal worth £5m a year Benitez wanted. However, Liverpool's American owners are preparing a compromise.
If Benitez ends the title wait that stretches back to 1990 he will be given the bonus, which would take his salary from its current £70,000 a week to £90,000 - with even more cash for winning the Champions League.
