LA Galaxy's Donovan edging closer to Bayern Munich deal
US Mens National Team and LA Galaxy player Landon Donovan is already settling in at Bayern Munich on his ten day training visit with the club.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to see how football is played here,” Donovan said on Thursday. “I’d like to play in Europe. In Leverkusen, I was young and I did not have the necessary maturity. I wasn’t ready yet. Now, I am different person, a different player.”
Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann has nothing but praise for Donovan and many insiders in the game believe this is the start of a long term deal for him to return to Germany.
“He is the exceptional player in North America, including Mexico,” Klinsmann said. “Landon knows that Europe is where it’s at in football. And he has all the qualities to break through in Europe.”
Munich will have to negotiate with MLS to secure the player in January during the next transfer window.
