Bayern Munich's Toni: Don't blame me for Euros

Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni insists he's not to blame for Italy's Euro2008 failure.

He said: "I regret that Roberto Donadoni is no longer the coach, but it was not my fault. I do not believe I am so important. The Europeans were the biggest disappointment of my career.

"I have suffered for not having even scored a goal and also being unable to carry the team through to the final."

Toni added: "I am not saying we've been massacred by the press, but the criticism we received back then - and still are now - has been over the top."
