No fear for Perth Glory ahead of Melbourne Victory meeting
Perth Glory have not beaten the Melbourne Victory away from home in seven attempts but the game does not hold any fears for coach Dave Mitchell.
Fresh from an exciting 3-3 season opening draw with North Queensland Fury on Friday night, the Glory are preparing to take on the Victory at their new home ground, AAMI Park, on Saturday night and Mitchell is relaxed despite the fact the last two meetings with the Melbournians have ended badly (6-2 and 4-0 losses).
“There's no fear factor going into the game but they are a good side and we have to be very wary of certain aspects of their game," Mitchell told thewest.com.au.
"They are very organised and move the ball quickly so they'll cause a lot of teams problems. And it's their first game at this new stadium so they'll be looking forward to that. But so are we.
"Teams have had success against them by sitting back and hitting them on the break. But I think if you concentrate too much on what they might do, you can go into the game with a negative mindset. We'll be looking at where we think we can hurt them."
