Hull City striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink could be running around for Championship club Newcastle United this season, it has been revealed.
The Evening Chronicle says it has emerged that Toon boss Chris Hughton turned down an offer from his board to bring in Vennegoor of Hesselink at the end of August, with the out-of-contract Dutch international then opting for Hull City.
The former Celtic forward is already amongst the goals for the Tigers.

We are starting to see the cracks in Hughtons managerial ability.
He has done exactly the same as Roeder, but possibly with a little more impact.
Roeder came in, his relaxed attitude changed moral, the boys felt a bit better and got a few points.
After a while the morale peaked and it all came down to talent, which wasn't available.
Things started to go downhill and before weknew it we were staring at relegation.
All sound familiar?
Next I expect Hughton to stert shouting about injuries.
