Newcastle defender Williamson happy to get away from Portsmouth

Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson admits he's thanking his lucky stars to have left Portsmouth last month.

Williamson has made a seamless switch to Championship leaders Toon and can’t believe how life has turned in his favour.

He said: “Coming into a team that is doing really well can be difficult but I’ve settled in really well.

“The boys have been fantastic to me and I couldn’t be happier.”
