League One Notts County are set to unveil their new boss on Thursday after agreeing terms with a new management team.

Former Notts defender Short was sacked on Sunday just five months into a three-year contract.

Ex-Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is the favourite to take over and if he does, he would become the sixth manager at Meadow Lane in just over a year.

County have acted swiftly in appointing a replacement, and a statement issued by the club said: "The board have agreed terms with a new management team and an announcement will made at noon tomorrow (Thursday).

"This follows the departure of former boss Craig Short and his assistant Dave Kevan on Sunday.

"A press conference has been arranged for 2.30pm on Friday to present them to the media."
