New England Revolution forward Taylor Twellman will be forced to retire from the game because of a recurring concussion issue.

The 30-year old has been sidelined for about a year with the ailment but is expected to end his career at a press conference on Wednesday, ending any chance of a comeback.

Twellman has scored 101 goals in 174 MLS appearances for the Revs after kicking off his career in Germany with TSV 1860 Munich II in 1999.
