New Belenenses coach Toni has axed on-loan US international Freddy Adu from his squad.

Adu is on-loan at Belenenses from Benfica, but Toni wants to reduce squad numbers and has decided the American is not required.

Record says Adu will now return to Benfica, though whether he stays with his parent club for the second-half of the season is still undecided.
