Motherwell boss Brown: Chelsea could not tempt Smith from Rangers

Motherwell boss Craig Brown believes even Chelsea could not tempt Walter Smth from Rangers.
Brown last night paid tribute to the remarkable job Smith has done.
He said: "Walter was going back home when he rejoined Rangers. It was the same with Jim Jefferies at Hearts.
"I associate certain people with certain clubs - Walter with Rangers, Jim with Hearts and Billy McNeill with Celtic.
"I don't think Walter would manage any other club in Scotland.
"Indeed, let's be hypothetical here - even if Chelsea wanted him, I don't think Walter would leave Ibrox.
"I've no doubt Walter will carry on next year.

hahahaha even hypotheticallt chelsea would never want him, average manager in an average league, cudnt cut it at the prem level
Walter Smith in my eyes is just a Rangers man through and through - he went to Everton on a bum deal, was promised cash and got next to nothing and tried with what he had but the EPL is a league where you need fresh blood any players you wnat - he had someone elses team and couldn't do a thing about it - he was doomed from the start - I mean it wasn't as if he jumped from the SPL into the fire with both feet - he was pal Fergies ass manager at Man Utd which is no mean feat, so I was glad when he finally got out and a rest did him the world of good - he came back took over and re-vitalised Scotland to the heights of outplaying France and Italy and just missing out by a crazy decision by a referee at Hampden or we would have followed France to the Euro's - then he came back home and boy what a move that has been for him, Coisty, Durrant and all Bears that love Rangers - he has an eye for a player and a way with people - he gets the best out of players and knows if a player has it or hasn't - look at his trophies since he has returned when the Tims had the SPL and were winning everything ? He has turned the whole side around - and with a Scottish base if you notice , yes he will buy Europeans if they will fit straight in but he has brought in players that HE knows would do the biz - fit in - know the score and what was needed to get the team/club back to the Gers that the fans expect ! He had cash to build a team to start - som ething like 20 million - well spent by the way as it has had to last him basically , the past 3 transfer windows Rangers haven't had a single player brought in which is a disgrace for a side the size of the Bears BUT has worked out due to the management - we have also found a few quality young players from Murraypark in Danny Wilson, Robert Fleck, Andrew Little, Rory Loy, Jordan McMillan and many more that could yet mature into stars of the future but his real success has been the out the box thinking back when Dailly and Weir and McCulloch were up for grabs - he brought them in for experience , to toughen the team up and teach the other younger less experienced players also - and it worked - boy did it work - Dave Weir - Captain at 40 years old and teaching Bougherra and young Danny Wilson the ropes - Dailly did his part and Lee McCulloch got some stick but Walter stuck by him and played him iun nearly every position until he found the perfect defensive m idfield role with the odd burst and shot at goal - and a guarateed yellow card to go with his pay cheque haha - all in all any manager in fact most managers would have walked away from a job when you were niot able to bring in new blood but Wattie and his faithfull team stuck by Rangers and it looks as if things are going to pay off eventually - although it's not done and dusted - we have the SPL in the bag - this weekend should see the first trophy of the season and the Treble could still be on - the takeover and the exciting times ahead are hard to not think about - Champions League - and if I know Walter 'the sly silver fox' he will have a purse to play with in the summer transfer window ( if Ellis does take control ) and he will have new players marked out already - trust me - I would put cash on this one !
