Moss quits Melbourne Victory for Gold Coast Utd
Moss will move to Gold Coast as a replacement for Jess Vanstratten, who has only just agreed a deal with Central Coast Mariners.
While disappointed to be moving on, the opportunity to join Gold Coast United was one that the 27 year-old couldn’t turn down, “I’m sad to be leaving Melbourne but the prospect of first-team football and re-uniting with my family who now live in Queensland was obviously very appealing.
“As a goalkeeper you really have to be playing week in, week out, and I feel I have a better chance of playing regular football up north.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Melbourne and made some terrific friends along the way. We’re parting on good terms and I wish the guys the best of luck for the season ahead."
Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick wished Moss well: “Glen’s been a good player for us and a great person to have around the club, but unfortunately things didn’t quite work out for him here in Melbourne.
“He’s a high-quality ‘keeper, and barring suspension would’ve been in goal for New Zealand at the recent World Cup, so there’s no doubting his ability and I’m sure he’ll make his mark in the A-League."
