Catania striker Takayuki Morimoto feels he is improving as a player thanks to his time in Sicily.
Morimoto scored both goals in Japan's friendly win over Guatemala this week in front of new coach Alberto Zaccheroni.
"I am a striker and it is my task to score. I showed coach Zaccheroni I am able to score and make an impact with this team. I'm happy for the two goals, even if it was just a friendly match.
"In Catania, I was able to solidify my place and grow as a player. Now I expect to play continuously for further growth.
"I thank the club because it is due to them that I am now playing for my national team."
