French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco will release striker Park Chu-young for the upcoming Asian Games.

The 25-year old has been selected as an overage player for South Korea’s U23 team for the tournament which runs from November 12 to 27 in Guangzhou, China.

Initially, Monaco were not prepared to release Park but they have performed a complete u-turn and will now allow him to travel to China and take part in the Games.

Clubs are not under obligation to release players for the Asian Games, which are not part of FIFA's international match calendar but Monaco have been kind enough to accommodate the South Korean team.
