Molby: Liverpool's Gerrard should've won PFA gong as well

Liverpool hero Jan Molby says Steven Gerrard should have won the PFA Player of the Year, along with the Footballer Writers' trophy this season.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "I'm not surprised. It tells everyone what a great season he's had because normally the winner comes from the team who has won the title. Of course, Liverpool did not win the Premier League, but it didn't stop Gerrard from having another sensational season.

"It's a very prestigious award for a player to win and to be pinpointed by the sports writers will mean a lot to him.

"I think he's definitely the right choice, but I thought he would have also won the PFA Players' Player of the Year too - I'm surprised Ryan Giggs won that one."
