Middlesbrough recall loanee Williams from Burnley

Burnley will not be able to use loan star Rhys Williams during the play-offs and he has returned to Middlesbrough to assist them in their fight against relegation.

The 20-year-old Welsh defender has now returned to the North East and he could feature in Boro's end of season run-in.

"Rhys has had a very successful time at Burnley and it is unfortunate that Burnley are unable to extend the loan at this stage," said Gareth Southgate.

"However, we are delighted to have Rhys back in the squad for our final three matches of the season."
