Middlesbrough’s Williams chooses Australia over Wales

Middlesbrough’s Rhys Williams has chosen to represent Australia rather than Wales.

The 20-year old is eligible for both national teams and despite having played for Wales at U21 level and trained with the senior squad, has applied to FIFA so he can represent his country of birth, Australia.

Williams has been in impressive form this season, mainly when on loan to Burnley but is rated highly at the Riverside.
