Melbourne Victory will take on a Victorian Premier League (VPL) select squad in a charity match for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

The one-off charity match on Tuesday May 12 has been coordinated by Football Federation Victoria, in conjunction with Melbourne Victory and Melbourne and Olympic Park Trust, with all proceeds to go to Victorian Bushfire affected families and communities.

The night will also include a celebrity match as a curtain-raiser to the main event. This game will feature Politicians including Victorian Minister for Sport James Merlino, as well as Victorian sporting and media identities like Shane Crawford, Sam Kekovich and NOVA’s Ed Kavalee.

”Firstly we’re pleased to be a part of such a terrific cause to support those families and communities affected by the bushfires” said Head Coach Ernie Merrick.

“To also work in with Football Federation Victoria, who we have an excellent relationship with and do so much for football development in this state, is pleasing.”

Melbourne Victory and the VPL select team will go head-to-head from 7.30pm at Olympic Park Stadium on Tuesday May 12, with the curtain raiser to begin at 6pm.
