Melbourne Victory maintain brilliant finals record
Melbourne Victory last night kept their impeccable finals record intact when they defeated Sydney FC 2-1 at Etihad Stadium.
The reigning A-League champions have not lost a finals match thus far and in seven appearances in the play-offs have a record of six wins and one draw.
Since they were held to a scoreless draw by Adelaide United in the 2006/07 semi-final first leg, the Victory have gone on a six-match winning streak, although five of those have been against the Reds.
Last night was the first time Melbourne had met a club other than Adelaide in a play-off but the result was similar to those of the past, with a win in the major semi-final first leg.
In the seven games, the Victory have netted 16 goals and conceded just two. Below is their record in A-League finals matches.
