Melbourne Victory to learn more on Hernandez injury today
Melbourne Victory midfielder Carlos Hernandez will have an MRI scan today to assess the extent of his knee injury.
The reigning Johnny Warren Medallist was brought down in a tough tackle in the 2-0 loss to Perth Glory at AAMI Park on Saturday night and is now in danger of being out for the remainder of the season if results are negative.
Victory coach Ernie Merrick said the club was keeping it fingers crossed on the Costa Rican’s injury.
"He twisted his knee and he could be lucky or it could be a serious injury," Merrick said.
"At the worst it could be an ACL. If it's a serious tear of the ligament, he could be out for some time. If it's minor or bone bruising, he might be able to get back quickly. Hopefully, it's not too long."
