Despite a financial loss from the recent Fulham game, Melbourne Victory are keen to take on more overseas opponents.

The reigning A-League champions were defeated 3-0 by the Cottagers last Saturday night and also took a financial loss from the event but it won’t deter chief executive Geoff Miles.

"We thought it was a really good night for the players and a great opportunity for the team, especially at this stage of the pre-season," Miles said.

"It was also a good opportunity for the fans to see an EPL team and there were plenty of positives from that perspective.

"Financially, while we don't get the returns for a while, we expect to make a modest loss. We'd anticipated a slightly bigger crowd, but that won't dissuade us from trying to get big clubs playing here in Melbourne."
