Melbourne Victory’s Moss not expecting walk-up start

New Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Glen Moss does not believe he is a walk-up start at his new club.

New Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Glen Moss does not believe he is a walk-up start at his new club.

The 26-year old New Zealand international was signed by the Victory when they knew that the well-performed Michael Theoklitos was keen on chasing a contract overseas.

But Moss understands that he hasn’t taken the mantle in Melbourne just yet as 20-year old Mitchell Langerak is still knocking on the door.

"I don't think I am the automatic No. 1 but I would obviously like to get that chance," Moss said.

"Every club you go to there's two good keepers and its pretty competitive to get a place. I think that's good, especially here in Melbourne."

Moss added that the level of training at the Victory was another step up to what he previously experienced in the A-League.

"It's fantastic having Steve Mautone as a full-time goalkeeping coach. It's something Wellington could not provide for me over the last couple of years so I am really enjoying training here."
