Melbourne Victory have breathed a sigh of relief after it was revealed that star midfielder Carlos Hernandez does not have a serious knee injury.

The Costa Rica international was hurt in a tackle in the 2-0 loss to Perth Glory at AAMI Park on Saturday night but scans showed that his right knee does not have any damage to either the anterior cruciate or medial ligaments.

The Victory says that Hernandez, last year’s A-League Player of the Year, should be right for Sunday’s home clash against North Queensland Fury.
