Melbourne Victory’s Celeski excited about new season
The 25-year old former Perth Glory man is back in full training and close to premium fitness two weeks out from the season proper and says he is eagerly anticipating returning to the pitch for league action.
“It wasn't easy sitting out for so long, watching games on TV,” he told the Herald Sun “The boys do their part to make you feel included, too, but if you're not there every day you can't help but feel like a bit of an outcast. Putting that aside, everything is back on track with training and I'm just looking forward to the season starting."
Celeski made his first appearance for some time when the Victory took on Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors at Etihad Stadium last Friday and then backed that 30-minute stint up with the winner against Dandenong Thunder on Tuesday night which has put him into calculations for the round one clash with reigning premiers Sydney FC.
"I was nervous, excited ... it was a whole bunch of emotions," Celeski said of the Boca match.
"Knowing that I was pencilled in for so long - our goal with the physios and the doctors was to get me back for that game - it was a long time coming. And then, after the game, it was just relief that I got through it, ticked that box and I could move on to the next one."
