Steven McGarry has revealed he rejected a new contract at Motherwell to sign with Perth Glory.

Steven McGarry has revealed he rejected a new contract at Motherwell to sign with Perth Glory.

The 30-year-old had been asked to stay with Well by interim manager Craig Brown, but McGarry has opted to head Down Under after training with the Glory, who are coached by former Rangers striker Dave Mitchell.

He confirmed: "Craig Brown came in and he actually wanted me to stay, so it was a bit of a dilemma.

"I just decided to take a risk and came out. I terminated my contract and came to an agreement.

"They wanted me to stay and hopefully be part of the things there, but I thought to myself, I know Perth and Dave had a good interest in me."
