Marotta explains Juventus missing out on AC Milan duo
Juventus GM Beppe Marotta has explained missing out on AC Milan pair Marco Borriello and Kakha Kaladze.
Juve had seemed set to sign both players on loan from Milan today, but instead the striker went to AS Roma and the defender to Genoa.
“Borriello was simply an opportunity that we tried to take,” the director general told Sky Italia television.
“We proposed the loan, but could not do any more than that. Then Roma intervened.”
The Giallorossi also took Borriello on loan at a cost of €2m, but have promised to make the move permanent in July for €13m.
“As for Kaladze, that was little more than a conversation we had with Adriano Galliani at Milan.
“We needed a player to complete the defence and reached a quick agreement with Napoli for Leandro Rinaudo.”
