Man Utd striker Rooney demands stun Real Madrid

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is finding Wayne Rooney's minders are driving a hard bargain.

Rooney wants to join his former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in Madrid, says Marca, but is insisting on a couple of major conditions.

Firstly, the England striker wants to be paid more than Ronaldo - ie., to become the highest paid player in the world.

Ronaldo is on a salary of €13 million and Rooney doesn't just want 1 euro more, he is demanding wages worth €14 million-a-year.

Rooney will also insist on a larger portion of image rights than his potential Real teammates. A split of 50:50 won't even come close to what he will demand.
