Man Utd ready to hit back at Le Havre over Pogba delays

Manchester United are ready to throw Le Havre's complaints over Paul Pogba's signing back in their faces.

The People says Old Trafford chiefs are adamant they have done everything by the book in their pursuit and capture of the brilliant 16-year-old French midfielder.

And they will this week ask FIFA to intervene and force Le Havre and the French FA to release Pogba's international clearance papers.

Although FIFA have confirmed they have received no official complaint from the French side, it has been revealed that Le Havre asked the French football federation NOT to hand over the papers releasing Pogba to United - despite the fact that the teenager has agreed a deal to join Sir Alex Ferguson's champions.

United have placed their transfer papers with the FA and insist they have acted within all FIFA guidelines in the signing of Pogba from the French second division club.

A United source said: "We would vigorously deny any wrong-doing in the signing of Paul Pogba. Le Havre's complaint and call for action against United is complete nonsense. Everything has been done within UEFA guidelines.

"Our next move is to speak with FIFA and ask them to compel the French federation to release Pogba's papers so he can join up with us.

"The boy wants to come to United because he knows we give talented young players a chance to make a big future for themselves."
