Manchester United legend Paul Ince has told Manchester City to dump Robinho.

In his column for the News of the World, MK Dons manager Ince wrote: "Yes, I heard him say the other week he wants to stay for five more years. But I don't believe him. All I see is a player who doesn't care for the team, the club or any of his team-mates. It's unhealthy and it will cost City dearly.

"Suddenly you see why Real Madrid were quite happy to let him go and why they didn't fight ferociously to keep him. They probably recognised what's now dawning on City fans.

"The problem is, that affects other players. They think if Robinho the superstar can get away with it, why should I try a leg?

"Others will go the other way and resent him, opening up rifts in the dressing and causing problems behind the scenes.

"Nobody likes to admit they're wrong but I think City have to make a stand now."
