Man Utd legend Giggs: Ferguson instrumental in every success
He said: "Looking back I wouldn't change my career for anyone's - and The Boss has been instrumental in everything I've achieved.
"It was massively important for the manager to take control of my career when I was 17 and he did that. Because of that he knows me better than anyone - even my wife! He's known me since I was 13 and he came to my house to sign me on. When someone does that you know you are going to be in good hands and from the very start he knew how to handle me.
"He still does to this day in terms of resting me, picking my games and deciding what kind of effect I could have in certain games - he's a master of that.
"He's a master of handling younger players and older ones, too - and now I've witnessed both those aspects first hand!''
Giggs also told the People: "When I first came on the scene he kept me away from the media because he wanted me free from outside distractions.
''As a young player at a massive club like United you don't want to do interviews when you are 17. You don't want to worry about what you say or how you look and sound on TV.
"You just want to concentrate on football and with his help that's what I did. It's a key reason why I've managed to have a long and successful career.''
