Man Utd hero Sheringham: Giggs will lead Euro celebrations

Manchester United hero Teddy Sheringham says Ryan Giggs will be the star of any post-match Champions League celebrations next week.

Recalling their 1999 triumph, Sheringham told The Sun: “It was a great night. We put the trophy in the middle of the hotel room and took turns dancing around it.

“Giggsy did his Elvis impersonation and I bet he will do it again if United win this time.

“It was a fantastic crescendo at the end of a fantastic season. To say we let our hair down is an understatement.

“We were up till seven in the morning then parading the trophy in Manchester at 2pm.

“It was the highlight of my career. You are in football to win things — and that winners’ medal takes pride of place.”
