Man Utd hero Albiston: Pogba just like Vieira

Manchester United hero Arthur Albiston says comparisons with Patrick Vieira for French teenager Paul Pogba are not wide of the mark.

The Scot has been impressed by Pogba since his arrival at United U18s.

Albiston told the Manchester Evening News: "He was at the centre of that controversy with Le Havre but signed for the Reds in October.

"When I saw the 16-year-old make his debut for the United academy side at Crewe my first thoughts were: 'He looks and plays exactly like Patrick Vieira!'

"He is very tall for a midfielder like former Arsenal player Vieira and is gangly but he has a lovely touch on the ball. He can pick a pass out superbly.

"The physical side of the English game will be no problem to him.

"He's got a great strike on him from outside the box and hit a fabulous shot on that debut that cracked against the underside of the bar."
