Man Utd face Premiership competition for Lindegaard

Manchester United face competition from Premiership rivals for Aalesund goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.

Manchester United face competition from Premiership rivals for Aalesund goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.

The Daily Mail says Lindegaard is being monitored by at least two other Premier League clubs.

Sir Alex Ferguson has his sights on the Aalesund star as a potential successor to Edwin van der Sar, who will be 40 in October.

Aalesund director Henrik Hoff has confirmed United are interested in Lindegaard but he has claimed it would take big money to land the 26-year-old.

United are keen on sealing a deal for the Dane and would be prepared to loan him back to Aalesund for the new season.

But sources close to the player have confirmed that United will have to move quickly if they want to land Lindegaard, as two unnamed Premier League clubs have approached Aalesund to request more information regarding his situation at the club.
