Man Utd end Ljajic deal to fund bid for Wolfsburg’s Dzeko

Manchester United are ready to launch a bid for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

The Mirror says United pulled the plug on their deal to sign Partizan Belgrade youngster Adem Ljajic to free up funds in January's transfer window.

With Antonio Valencia impressing on the right for United and Gabriel Obertan able to operate on both flanks, Fergie decided he did not need more cover in the same position.

The money saved from the potential deal will free up funds for Fergie to buy a striker to complement Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen.

Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko, rated recently by Fergie as the most in-form striker in Europe, is top of Fergie's wanted list.

Maybe they are not getting ljajic because they are leaving room to buy a decent left winger to take over giggs??

Anyway he isn't exactly quality?? The only reason united are going for him and not augero or villa is because the club won't spend over 35m on one player. (as rafa says fact)

United wont win the league they have lost there attack!
