Man Utd boss Ferguson wants ex-managers on FA disciplinary panel

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to see more football people on the FA's disciplinary board.

Ferguson can't believe the FA let Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard off the hook for his clash with Portsmouth's Michael Brown on Monday night.

He said: "I wonder if it's worth exploring some managers who don't have a job at the moment taking over that department.

"These guys have played the game and that's the big advantage they would have over the people doing it at the moment."

However, an argument against such a move is the example set by the UK work permits board, which has rejected the likes of McDonald Mariga, now of Inter Milan, while relying former managers during the process.
