Man Utd boss Ferguson: Spurs learning how to back their manager

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Tottenham have learned from backing manager Harry Redknapp.

Ferguson, in his match programme notes for the Carling Cup win over Spurs, believes the Londoners will benefit from supporting Redknapp as their long-term manager.

He wrote: "I was at a charity dinner recently in London with Harry – a question and answer session for the League Managers Association. And it struck me at the time how our careers had taken similar twists and turns.

"I have no doubt that there have been times when inside his head he has felt tortured but he never allows it to show. I suppose it is the value of experience which also stops him from panicking, and I think Tottenham are reaping the benefit now of what he has learned over the years."
