Man Utd boss Ferguson joining transfer battle for Stuttgart ace Khedira

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed by Stuttgart midfielder Sami Khedira at the World Cup.

Kicker says Ferguson has been won over by Khedira's form for Germany and is preparing a bid for the midfielder.

Ferguson has identified Khedira as his new defensive midfield lynchpin.

Stuttgart coach Christian Gross conceded: "I can only get new players if we sell players first, so it would be an option this summer to sell Sami."
