Man City winger Silva admits he could be playing for Man Utd

Manchester City new boy David Silva admits he could be playing for Manchester United.

City boss Roberto Mancini had tried to sign Silva in the past when he was at Inter Milan. So, too, have Manchester United and Chelsea. But the player, who joined Valencia as a 14-year-old a decade ago, felt it was not the right time.

"I don’t know whether there were actually offers made but there was talk, particularly of Chelsea and United," Silva told the Daily Mail.

"At that time Valencia had been so good to me and I was very much at ease with them and in Spain. Now you could say that United have got their squad in place and are an established group of players. But let’s hope this is the real take-off for City."
