Man City striker Benjani happy to wait for Sunderland chance

Benjani Mwaruwari is prepared to wait for his chance at Sunderland.

The on-loan Manchester City striker has made four appearances for the Black Cats, all of which have been as a late substitute.

Zimbabwe favourite Benjani told safc.com: "I've been here six weeks and since I arrived the team have only lost once. The team have been playing well.

"It means I have to push more and more and if I'm on the bench and the team are winning I have to try more and more."

Sunderland face Benjani's parent club tomorrow and he added: "I would love to play but unfortunately I can't. I can share all my knowledge with Steve Bruce [about Man City] I could talk, talk, talk but this is football - we have to go out there and do it on the pitch.

"Manchester City have some great players and we also have great players as well, so we will have to see what happens on the pitch."
