Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor says he was wrong to taunt his former Arsenal fans at Eastlands earlier this season.

Now Adebayor, 25, is preparing to take on his former team again in the Carling Cup quarter-finals tonight in Manchester.

He said: "Of course I regret it. We all have to make mistakes to become a better person.

"Barack Obama will make a lot of mistakes. Cristiano Ronaldo has made a lot of mistakes. Sir Alex Ferguson apologised for what he said against the ref.

"But I heard some singing insulting my dad, insulting my mum. I am thinking that we can't take everything, we are only human beings."
