Manchester City are rivaling Manchester United for Everton defender Jack Rodwell.
The Daily Mail says United have identified the Everton midfielder as a long-term target, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson asking about Rodwell’s personality and prospects.
Now it has emerged that City manager Mark Hughes is sending scouts to most Everton games to monitor the 18-year-old’s progress.
Rodwell is playing as a central midfielder under David Moyes but has been tipped as a top-class central defender of the future and it is this versatility that has made him such an attractive target for the country’s leading clubs.

Awesome.
You know the score, £25m please.
Alphie, what an idiot you are. Guarantee City will win nothing this season, go back to your mum and dads basement and quietly die please.
Failed?
I think so, but twice only and that was with Kaka and Terry.
Gaze up from the gutter of your poverty scousers and think your bitter, jealous thoughts.
Meanwhile City will look up and see the stars within their grasp.
Sure, one or two will slip away but there's many more to choose from when you have the means to pay in your pocket.
Tough life isn't it.
Alphie
