Man City fans desperate for Adebayor to avoid ban

Manchester City fans do not want to see Emmanuel Adebayor banned over his goal celebrations against Arsenal.

Danny Coggan, the Secretary of MCFC Official Supporters Club, told The Sun: "It is not the first time it has happened - and if Adebayor gets a fine so be it.

"He was given a yellow card by the referee and, in theory, cannot be punished twice for the same offence.

"But I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a ban.

"I admit the Robin van Persie incident doesn't look good. In fact, the more I see it, the worse it looks. What I would say, though, is that the only person who knows for certain if he meant it or not is Adebayor himself.

"It is a shame that the match will be remembered for the crowd trouble and the incident with van Persie - and not the result. We will now have to wait and see what happens next, but I have a feeling that the FA will make an example of him.

"It could be disastrous for us because he's probably been our best player so far this season."
