Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to go with Dedryck Boyata for tomorrow night's Carling Cup semi against Manchester United.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is ready to go with Dedryck Boyata for tomorrow night's Carling Cup semi against Manchester United.

The Belgian Under-21 defender made a successful debut in the 1-0 FA Cup third-round win at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

With Joleon Lescott and Wayne Bridge injured and Kolo Toure at the African Nations Cup, Boyata is on standby to play in the derby.

Mancini said defender Micah Richards, who had a groin problem at Boro, should be fit to face United, along with Robinho and, possibly, Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has been out with an ankle injury.

Mancini said: “It is possible Boyata will play because of the injuries we have. He did very well at Middlesbrough.”
