Man City boss Mancini admits Real Madrid’s Gago still on radar

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admits he remains keen on Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago.

The Times says Mancini says that he may revive his interest in Gago in the summer after failing with a move for the Real Madrid and Argentina midfield player on transfer deadline day.

“I don’t know how much money they wanted but we had two chances, two opportunities, with Mariga and Gago,” Mancini said. “We decided between two midfielders, Gago and Mariga and we decided on Mariga. We spoke to Real Madrid and they asked for I don’t know how many millions but we decided to take Mariga.

“We spoke to Real Madrid and said we wanted Gago and we could take him on loan or we were ready to buy him if possible. After we didn’t conclude with Mariga we decided to take Gago. We’ve got the possibility to take Gago in the summer.”
